NVHC Information And Drive Thru Clinic Instructions
North Valley Health Center is actively responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and working to prevent the spread of the virus in our community. The safety, health, and well-being of our patients, staff and communities are our top priorities during this critical time.
At North Valley Health Center, staff are following infection control guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
First, all people experiencing COVID-19 symptoms of upper respiratory symptoms of fever, cough or difficulty breathing should call before coming in for care without an appointment. If the individual already has an appointment and is experiencing these symptoms, again, please call the facility before coming in.
During this phone call, an NVHC staff member will guide the caller through the COVID-19 screening process. If the screening criteria is met, the patient will be directed to our drive thru visit process. North Valley Health Center will onlytest for COVID-19 if the patient meets the guidelines set out by the Minnesota Department of Health and Center for Disease Control.
If directed to our drive thru garage, patients are to remain in their vehicles, have the vehicle in park with the engine off and the window open. Healthcare professionals, wearing appropriate safety gear, will evaluate and treat the patient as necessary.
Other healthcare organizations have effectively used this drive-thru method to prevent the spread of the virus to other patients and staff. We ask you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work diligently to meet all your healthcare needs.
North Valley Health Center is still seeing patients for appointments in the clinic, radiology, lab and Physical Therapy department. Please call ahead if you have questions in regards to your current or future appointments.
The circumstances regarding COVID-19 are ever changing. Please continue to watch for updates. If you have questions regarding instructions, please call North Valley Health Center at 218-745-4211
Temporary Drive Thru Clinic
As the need to care for our community changes, so do some of our practices at North Valley Health Center. We are beginning a new process which some of you may have already been a part of. We have set up a temporary drive thru clinic within our facility. A screening process is in place that involves key questions to determine whether you are best served in our standard clinic or within this new setting.
The process will begin with every patient, whether it is via telephone or through one of our primary entrances. From there, you will be directed to where your visit will take place. Our goal in this new process is to provide exceptional care as always, but to involve more containment and protective measures for our public. Please know that we are working diligently to ensure you receive the best level of care, whether for COVID-19 or other concerns that you have come to expect from your North Valley Health Center care team. We are here for you and your families to help keep you healthy, safe and informed.
Due to sustained increase in respiratory illnesses and influenza across Minnesota, North Valley Health Center is implementing a visitor restriction. These restrictions will assist in protecting our patients and employees from catching and spreading respiratory illnesses.
The restrictions will limit visits to patients’ immediate family members if they are not showing signs of respiratory illnesses. Immediate family members include a patients spouse or significant other, in-laws, parents, grandparents and siblings or children over the age of 15 years old.
We also ask that patients coming into North Valley Health Center Hospital and Clinic put on a mask if they are experiencing any respiratory illness and to use the hand sanitizer that are located at all entrances of North Valley Health Center
North Valley Health Center would like to thank the public for their willingness to help avoid the spread of illnesses. These visitor restrictions were put into place on Sunday, March 15, 2020 and will stay in effect until further notice.
At North Valley Health Center, our number one priority is to keep our patients and our staff safe.
We are aware of the coronavirus concerns of our community, as well as the recent statements from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and The Minnesota Department of Health.
Even though we consider coronavirus a serious health risk, the immediate health risk to Marshall County remains low. The best recommendations from the CDC and MDH are to wash your hands, cover your cough and stay home when you are sick. The situation is changing quickly so please stay up to date by checking in with the CDC @ https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html and MDH @ https://www.health.state.mn.us/#coronavirus
