Vaccine Programs

Un- and Underinsured Adult Vaccines

North Valley Public Health (NVPH) has vaccine available for adults age 19 and older without health insurance or adults who have health insurance that does not cover vaccines.
The following vaccines are available:

  • Hepatitis B: This is a 3 shot series, given 1 month and 6 months after the 1st injection
  • Hepatitis A: This is a 2 shot series, given 6 months after the 1st injection
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis): This vaccine is especially important if a person is around infants less than 1 year of age
  • HPV (Human Papilloma Virus): This is a 3 shot series, given 2 months and 6 months after the 1st injection, for men and women 19-26 years of age
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella)
  • Meningococcal (Meningitis)
  • Pneumovax (often referred to as the “pneumonia shot”): Recommended for anyone under 65 years of age who smokes or has a respiratory condition such as asthma
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Zostavax (Shingles)

Minnesota Vaccines for Children Program (MNVFC)

North Valley Public Health (NVPH) offers MNVFC vaccines to any children 0-18 years of age at no cost if the child falls under any of these categories:

  • Has no health insurance
  • Is on a Minnesota Health Care Program: Medical Assistance (MA), General Assistance Medical Care (GMAC), Minnesotacare or a Prepaid Medical Assistance Program (PMAP)
  • American Indian or Alaskan Native
  • Has insurance covering only selected vaccines (can get MNVFC for the non-covered vaccines only)
  • Has insurance that caps vaccine coverage at a certain amount; once that amount has been reached, these children are eligible for MNVFC

NVPH has all of the required and recommended childhood vaccines available for children age 0-18 years. If your child does not fall under any of these categories, please make an appointment with your clinic for any needed immunizations.
