Bone Scan

Where will the scan be done?

Your Bone Scan will be performed by the DMS Mobile Imaging Services. The equipment is transported to our facility by a large truck.  You will be escorted out to the truck by the technologist and positioned on the scanning table under the Gamma Camera. You must be very still during the filming and Velcro straps may be used to assist you in lying still.

Who will talk to me about my results?

Your films will be sent to a Radiologist to be read. The Radiologist will study your examination and give his impression to your doctor. Your doctor will discuss these results with you and explain what they mean in relationship to your health.

Will the scan be covered by my insurance?

We ask that you call your insurance prior to see if your scan will be covered.

Your Role In The Procedure:
