Dr. Leblanc is the medical director at NVHC and lead physician of the cardiac rehab program. One of his greatest joys is knowing he has helped others to live a healthier life and that he might have been able to assist them in that pursuit.

Dr. Baig has more than 20 years of experience specializing in colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. He loves the small-town way of life in the Midwest and is excited to be a part of the North Valley Health Center team and the community of Warren.

For almost 10 years, Jeremy Houser has enjoyed serving the North Valley Health Center community. Jeremy specializes in orthopedics/sports medicine, cardiology and emergency medicine.

Shane Skeim’s work history includes 10 years at Altru Hospital working in the surgical care unit and serving as an undergrad instructor at UND for over 7 years. He is committed to providing professional care the NVHC community can trust.


Jill Smith completed her Master’s Degree in Family Practice Nursing at the University of North Dakota in May of 2017. Shortly after, she was hired as a full time Primary Care Provider and has been proudly serving the NVHC community since.


Nicole Steien earned her Doctorate of Nursing degree in the summer of 2020. Following her graduation, she was hired as the Assistant Director of Nursing at North Valley Health center. Nicole has been a part of the North Valley Health Center care team for over 5 year and is excited to continue being a vital part of the NVHC community!

Shanon Caillier is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who provides
behavioral health assessments and medication management for North Valley Health Center. She’s worked in healthcare since 2020 and has experience with med-surge, emergency medicine, patient education, medication administration, pathology, admission, and discharge.
She earned a master’s degree from Walden University and graduated from Northland Community and Technical College as a registered nurse. “I prefer a relaxed and comfortable treatment environment, “she said. “I believe all patients deserve a safe and confidential place to receive mental health treatment.”
Alayne Brekke, MPAS, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant at Northern Valley Health Center with a strong background in orthopedics and primary care. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Dakota and holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh.
Prior to becoming a PA, Alayne worked in Orthotics and Prosthetics as a certified and licensed Orthotic Fitter and Pedorthist, providing hands-on patient care and developing a strong foundation in musculoskeletal medicine. During her clinical training, she completed specialty rotations in Orthopedics, Rheumatology, and General Surgery, while also gaining broad experience in primary care and rural health.
Joeanna Lee Aasen, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, is a Family Nurse Practitioner serving NVHC’s Hospital and Emergency Department. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, Joeanna has dedicated her career to rural healthcare and emergency medicine across Northwestern Minnesota.
Born and raised in the Clearbrook/Gonvick area, Joeanna understands the unique challenges rural communities face and is deeply committed to providing safe, compassionate, evidence-based care. She earned her Master of Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of North Dakota in 2011 and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2016.
