Acute Care Beds

Acute Care is a branch of health-care where necessary treatment of a disease in which a patient is treated for a brief but severe episode of illness. The average length of stay is 2-3 days. The goal of an Acute Care hospitalization is discharging the patient as soon as the patient is deemed healthy and stable, with appropriate discharge instructions.

Our goal at North Valley Health Center is to discharge the patient at their previous status prior to hospitalization. To achieve this goal we utilize available community resources.

At North Valley Health Center an Acute Care hospitalization may include:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • IV Fluids
  • IV Antibiotics
  • Medication Adjustments

Examples of an Acute Care hospitalization include:

  • Pneumonia
  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Influenza
  • Dehydration
  • Chest Pain
